Grade 4 Titanium
UNS R55400, GB TA4 — CP titanium pushed to its strength ceiling (min 550 MPa) by oxygen control. Where Gr2 is corrosion-first, Gr4 is corrosion-and-wear with a stiffness push, and it is the CP grade seen in CAD/CAM milling discs.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Tensile (min) | 550 MPa |
| Yield (min) | 483 MPa |
| Elongation (min) | 15 % |
| Oxygen (max) | 0.40 % |
Grade 4 in CAD/CAM
Dental mill blanks are machined-from-solid discs; 98.5 mm diameter × 12/16 mm height is the market-standard footprint we are asked to quote. We sell the metal, not medical devices — final biocompatibility certification remains the processor's scope. [disc photography in progress]
Interchange Note
Gr4 vs Gr2: +205 MPa strength, reduced ductility. Gr4 vs Gr23: different families — ELI alloy wins on toughness; check the published spec for the duty.
