Titanium Plate Buying Guide
Buying titanium plate well is a paperwork skill before it's a metal skill. This guide is what we wish every first RFQ contained — and the reason our quotes land firm the first time.
Size Vocabulary: t × w × l
Thickness × width × length, millimetres, in that order. Sheet conventionally < 3 mm, plate ≥ 3 mm. "Cut to size" = sawn/waterjet/laser from mill width; know which edges your fabrication actually needs.
Thickness Bands
Foil 0.03–0.5 · thin sheet 0.5–3 · medium plate 3–25 · heavy 25–60 mm — capability, availability and price curve change at each band; that's normal, not vendor games.
Tolerance Basics per B265
Published tolerance tables exist per thickness × width band in the standard's named edition. Ask for "tolerance to the specified standard revision" — and when a seller answers "all negatives" for flatness, read the edition again.

Document Checklist Before Payment
Sample-to-Bulk Workflow
Small cut-to-size trial → verify form/weld/machine response → scale to mill-width orders. Most first buyers regret only the steps they skipped.
