Titanium Tubes for Heat Exchangers
Copper-nickel gave up; stainless pitted. Titanium Gr2 tubes resist chloride pitting in seawater at velocities and temperatures that destroy conventional condenser alloys — which is why shipboard condensers, evaporators and brine heaters increasingly specify ASTM B338 titanium tube.
Typical Specification (as ordered)
| Parameter | Typical band |
|---|---|
| Grade | Gr1 / Gr2 (B338); Gr12 for hot brine |
| OD | 20 – 60 mm (e.g. 25.4 mm) |
| Wall | 0.6 – 3.0 mm |
| Length | up to 8000 mm, cut + tolerance per your drawing |
| Condition | annealed, pickled, ends plugged |
| Docs | MTC per lot; NDT record where tested |
Values are the common order band, not a limit: other OD/wall combinations within our tube line are quotable. Testing (hydrostatic or eddy current) is performed at the production base to the standard you buy.

FAQ
What length tolerance can you hold on 6 m tubes?
Cut-length tolerance follows the ordered standard; state +/− per tube-sheet drilling and we confirm at quote.
Do you supply tubes pre-bent?
Bending is outside drawn-tube scope — we ship straight lengths. U-bundle conversion is a fabricator process.
Is eddy-current testing standard?
It is per the ordered standard/practice; specify which test you require and it is arranged at the production base.
